Software Developer's reality

Software Developer's reality

Being a software developer isn't just fun but sweet pain. You can imagine it, just a single comma taking half of your day. If that does not sound normal enough imagine writing a perfect code but then the IDE is buggy and what you need is just a restart but then it takes you two hours to realize it. Frustrating, right?

When say you are a Software Developer, to an average human species, you are a computer god who deserves an altar. You will be the family customer support. Well, they will even give you unfixable stuff just because you know about computers. I have an experience here, I hope my uncle doesn't read this. Else, I will be fixing the old fridge.

Being a developer is all about making mistakes and making good use of Stack Overflow. In fact, a developer's best friend is Stack Overflow. It is not an easy thing. Programming languages keep evolving and with every upgrade, you have to go to check the documentation and catch up. So, let's say you have been out of the field for two years and then decide to hit back. By the time you left, the programming language you were using was version 5.7 and now the new one is v8.2. To be on the safe side, you have to go back to the drawing board and learn new or improved concepts, or else you will writing redundant code with a rating of F. So in short, the learning curve never stops. Even the pros are always struggling to learn something.

People always think developers are an anti-social species that don't care whatever else is outside their cocoon. Well, they are right. Being a developer requires immense dedication, focus, concentration, and effort. For someone to get a social life from that immense pressure, chances are really slim. An amazing thing is that this species of the human race has no problem with all that. In fact, they are proud of the lifestyle because it meets their needs.

Developers are always weird. It used to be a myth but yes, not anymore. A true developer DNA has some weird trait in it. Just some behaviors that are uncommon. The weirdness can come out in a number of characters like:

  • Being overly sarcastic
  • Being smartass
  • Being nerdy
  • Caring more of online connections than physical
  • Forgetting some relatives (voluntarily)
  • Too much caffeine
  • Quitting jobs after fixing bugs
  • Hating bugs (literally, like insects)
  • Twisted sense of humor

Ultimately we can say that the life of a software developer isn't a normal one but it works. Not everyone can afford it but if only they choose to. I do not know what your thoughts are but I will be glad to know.

😂😂😂 the big point is you choose to create new libraries instead of using existing ones
