Skill Development Project - 1

Introduction:

Hello Guys!! I'm Sai praneeth kumar renduchinthala from KL University bearing ID (2000030859) and my teammates Jahnavi Machupally   (2000030572), Sai Nitin Reddy Sanikommu(2000030896) worked together and developed a project about Travel,Tourism & Hospitality System.

Objective:

• The objective of the project is to develop a system that automates the processes and activities of a travel and tourism agency.
• The purpose is to design a system using which one can perform all operations related to traveling and sight-seeing
• The purpose of this document is to present a detailed description of the Tourism management System. It will explain the purpose and features of the system, the interfaces of the system, what the system will do, the constraints under which it must operate and how the system will react to external stimuli. This document is intended for both the stakeholders and the developers of the system.
• This Hotel Management System Software Requirement Specification (SRS) main objective is to provide a base for the foundation of the project. It gives a comprehensive view of how the system is supposed to work and what is to be expected by the end users. Client’s expectation and requirements are analyzed to produce specific unambiguous functional and non-functional requirements, so they can be used by development team with clear understanding to build a system as per end user needs. This SRS for HMS can also be used for future as basis for detailed understanding on how project was started. It provides a blueprint to upcoming new developers and maintenance teams to assist in maintaining and modifying this project as per required changeability.

Project Scope

EXISTING SYSTEM:

• In the present system a customer has to approach various agencies to find details of places and to book tickets.
• This often requires a lot of time and effort.
• A customer may not get the desired information from these offices and often the customer may be misguided.
• It is tedious for a customer to plan a particular journey and have it executed properly.

PROPOSED SYSTEM:

• The proposed system is a web based application and maintains a centralized repository of all related information.
• The system allows one to easily access the relevant information and make necessary travel arrangements.
• Users can decide about places they want to visit and make bookings online for travel and accommodation.
• The Tourism Management System project is an implementation of a managing Tourism website which helps the customers to search the availabilityof various tourist places and prices of various hotel rooms in particular places, along with the different packages available with the reservations. This project also covers various features like online registration of the users, modifying the details of the website by the management staff or administrator of the website, by adding, deleting or modifying the
• customer details or packages information. In general, this website would be designed to perform like any other Tourist management website available online .
• The HMS project is intended for the reservations for room that can be made through online. It will be able to automate the various operations of the Hotel. Our Hotel Management System will have three end users: Customer, Receptionist, and Hotel Manager. Hotel Management System will consists of Booking Management System, DBMS Server, and Report Generator. Customers will be able to check for room’s availability, select the rooms, and pay for the room. Receptionist will have access to update or modify booking details. Manager will able to view the financial report and able to update room information such as cost and category. The main goal of this introduced automated HMS software is to simplify every day process of hotel. Day to day Hotels are increasing and they need to automate to provide customer ease of access. It will be able to take care of services to customer in a quick manner. This automation will be able to replace the drawbacks of large customer information physical files which were difficult to handle. Secure Transaction, quick retrieval of information, ease of use, quick recovery of errors, fault tolerance are some of the benefits that development team will be working on to achieve end user satisfaction.

Approach :

we are going to follow scrum methodology inorder to complete the project

USER RESEARCH :

This business system’s most essential target groups are IT employees in metropolitan cities, people who keep changing their cities like central government employees. It is quite difficult book the tickets and selecting proper places at right time.

By implementing design thinking techniques, obviously "Empathic research," we could complete the research effectively.

Throughout this project, we have learned the practical application of the concepts like JDBC, React,MongoDB. While building up this project we have overcome various hurdles with our logical thinking ability.
