Set Salesforce Users Password using Workbench
One request that I'm sure many admins get is "Can you set my password to {password}?". For a long time, the standard answer was always "Unfortunately I can only reset your password". The ability to set a user's password was available, but for a lot of admins is required tools and skills that were more in the realm of the developer
Wouldn’t it be great if Admins could just set a one-time use password? ! Wouldn’t it be great to say- “I’m going to set your password to this and you can use it once to log in.” There is an idea by Mike Gerholdt “Allow Admins to create 1-time use passwords“
Until the idea gets implemented here is a workaround
System Admins can reset the Password using the Workbench.
The process is very simple. Go to the Workbench site https://workbench.developerforce.com/login.php and log in using your SFDC credentials
Click on the Utilities menu option and select Password Management.
Enter the user id of the user you want to Set the password. Then enter and confirm the new password.
Click the "Change Password" button and you're set
This is huge!! Thank you so much for sharing
Thanks Nirav S. thank you for sharing! What a life saver.
Hi Nirav S., thank you for the tip. Is there a way to do this for multiple users at a time? Such as via CSV?
