Script & Dot: Six Months In...
So, How’s It Going?
When we wrote our first blog in early February, we could never have predicted the scale of the situation the world would be facing just a few weeks later. We’ve watched Covid-19 turn the world on its head, forcing organisations from all industries to adapt quickly and completely rethink how they do business. We’re all also seeing the major impact the pandemic is having on employment and waiting nervously to see how this will progress as we head towards recession. It’s certainly made setting up on our own more of a challenge. However, uncertainty always brings an opportunity to try and help those around you.
What Have We Been Doing?
Script and Dot’s focus during the last few months has been on helping our candidates and clients find a way forward. Many of our candidates are looking for new opportunities following recent redundancies and need support with CV writing and interview practice and we’re proud to offer this. We’re also working closely with clients who need help adapting their recruitment processes so they can interview, on-board and start new joiners remotely. Working to keep those involved safe, whilst keeping key recruitment processes moving. In fact, the placement we are most proud of so far was a Dev Ops Engineer who got in touch after he was let go in early March when Germany went into Lockdown. His recruitment process was managed completely remotely, and he starts with his new company in a few weeks’ time now Germany is slowly starting to get back to work.
What’s Next?
We’re making progress towards our business mission of establishing ourselves as the ‘go to’ agency in the Dev Ops & Cloud space for both candidates and clients. However, now more than ever it’s our passion to improve the recruitment service being delivered in this area that is powering us through these difficult times. We’re doing all we can to make sure that we’re flexible and adaptable, able to fully support our clients and candidates needs appropriately, and that the recruitment experience is positive and straightforward despite the uncertainty.
If you work in the Dev Ops, Development or Cloud space and you’re looking for recruitment support as a client or candidate, please get in touch.
I’m sure in all your business planning, a global pandemic was not on the list! Congratulations on your first 6 months.
