"Run With It"

RUN (run wid (with) it!)

RUN (run wid (with) it!)

RUN (run wid (with) it!)

Pick up something [and] start to run wid [with] it!!!!

Grenadian soca artiste Mr Killa (Hollis Mapp) 2019 soca hit “Run With It” encourages fan to pick up something and “run with it”. Subsequently, the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) issued a warning urging citizens to not engage in picking up things which could result in them breaking the law. To his credit, Mr. Mapp is on record urging fans to “pick up” what is theirs in a song that reminds us how similar we are and that our diversity is the bridge which links us together.

While this blog does not concern itself with Mr. Mapp’s work, it is his work that provides the inspiration to encourage readers to pick up their goals, especially those that had been dormant, and “run with it”.

As you prepare to “run” with your goals, be conscious that your goals must be achievable. Never set a goal you will not be able to achieve. It can be depressing when one fails to achieve set goals. It always helps to set shorter term goals as part of your ultimate goal. Perhaps measure and evaluate your progress on a weekly or monthly basis as part of the long term plan.

Achieving your goals will require time. Achieving your goals faster will mean working harder.

If you are serious about achieving you goals, you’re going to have to make a few changes. You can’t do the same thing over and over again and expect different results. Significant improvements will take time.  Changing to achieving your goal can be difficult, especially for creatures of habit. These changes, however, will yield big dividends in the long run.

As you “run with it” consistency is critical. The longer you can stick with the plan, the better. You might not always hit your target every time, but you must be determined to persevere.

Setting goals is an excellent way to stay motivated and to remain committed to a process.

Pick up those goals and “run with” them.
