Remember when work used to be fun

Maybe it is because I belong to Generation X, but I had a lot of first technology experiences at work. I first used a computer at work. My first mobile phone was a work one. I first learn the use of email, excel and powerpoint at work (may be that was not fun but you get the point). Work used to be a place for technical innovation and fun. But then at some point in time things flipped.

The millennials have more technical firsts in their personal life. Think google search, amazon buying, an app for everything, social media, or Alexa. Even a three-year-old expects to swipe every screen. I wonder if the workplace can compete again?

I would be interested in your thoughts on your firsts and whether they were in the work place or outside of it.
