Reflections

Reflections

Having spent the last decade working for a company which had been founded by my Father 30 years ago and which continues to evolve in new and exciting directions, I feel that the best way to celebrate this anniversary is to share with you a few life reflections.

Celebrations are intended to honor life's most momentous occasions but the truth is that much of real life tends to happen during the in-between times. Between the beginnings and endings we are all subjected to numerous life experiences which often go unnoticed as they simply don't seem significant enough to be celebrated. But these small instances are just as worthy of celebration as the landmark moments.

How you chose to celebrate life is a personal choice. You may simply be happy with your favourite cup of tea, the book you love to read, the view out of your window or the smell of your favourite dish. Perhaps it should be enough for us to appreciate the moments we share with others, friends and family, the people we work with or do the work that we love.

Without these small moments, there would be nothing to celebrate. Because life happens between the pauses we take to honor those milestone occasions.

I have been profoundly lucky to have been able to spend the last 10 years developing new projects and then bringing them to life, little step by little step. My work environment has created space and opportunity for me to dare to dream. In times of uncertainty and when it seems that all we took for granted has been silently stolen from us by events we have little control of, let's take the time to celebrate those precious in-betweens.

I look forward to the challenges which await me as we come closer at GSS to launching our digital healthcare solution or as we redefine and set out to rediscover our educational project. However these big leaps will always be made up of the thousands little steps which I have taken with numerous fantastic people who have been a part of this journey over the years. I wish to thank them for their involvement and hope that we will all never cease to dare to dream.

In the meantime, I shall allow the festive feelings today colour the days to come with boundless positive energy and hope for the future which I share with you in the form of a quote by US President Lyndon B. Johnson: “Yesterday is not ours to recover but tomorrow is ours to win or to lose.”

Jak ten czas leci! Jestem dumny, że nasze ścieżki zawodowe się przecięły. Wniosłaś dużo dobrego na mojej drodze . Samych dobrych chwil w kolejnych latach!

Congratulations! Your „never give up” attitude pays off. Wish you lots of inspirations and outstanding results!

Thank you, Margaret, for that personal reflection. I remember the moment of the unexpected change. Your father would be very proud of you!
