Recruiting software developers and software engineers for remote-first environments

The North West is seeing a rapid increase in demand for .NET roles, with close to 500 roles currently open in the Manchester area only according to LinkedIn.

But with the coronavirus restrictions still in place and no sure way of knowing when things might get back to normal, more and more candidates expect to be offered remote and/or flexible working options. In fact, many of the talented candidates I have spoken with in recent weeks have said they’d only consider a career move if their next role was guaranteed to be 100% remote.

The benefits of flexible working

By now, most companies across the world have realised that home working is, in fact, doable. Despite all its challenges, the last year has proven that many employees and organisations can thrive in a remote-first, digital environment. Flexible and remote working offers a better work-life balance and increased wellbeing for many, allowing people to spend more time with family, walk the dog, or exercise, while cutting down on commute time can mean an increase in productivity for some.

Flexible working can also be a great way to increase diversity within technical teams, by offering part-time hours for parents of young children, or encouraging fully remote working for people physically unable to go into an office, for example. Offering a flexible, remote-first environment means companies can attract candidates from a much wider pool, since they’re not tied to any particular location.

Working to a remote-first approach

Talent are seeing more and more of our clients responding to these expectations by becoming more flexible, and some of them are even adopting fully remote or remote-first working practices. Most companies have now adopted Cloud technologies for data sharing and collaboration tools (if they weren’t already using them), meaning that most technical roles can be done remotely.

A number of our clients currently have remote requirements for .NET Developers, and we are working with some really talented, remote .NET Developers and Software Engineers for

.NET, C#, .NET Core, ASP.NET MVC, TDD, SOLID, AWS / Azure and JavaScript.

If you are a remote software developer, please get in touch to find out more. And if you have the capacity to hire UK based remote developers, some of the talented people we are working currently could be of interest to you too! Get in touch with me to discuss.
