A quick look at Widgets
If you own an iPhone then installing iOS 14 opens the door for Widgets. This version now includes adding Widgets into your home screen. Imagine, you have installed many apps on your iPhone or iPad and you are looking for some specific information from a few apps! That may require opening various apps on your device for finding the information. I have been in that situation and found out that widgets can come very handy. A Widget provides the key important content from an app and displays it where you can see it at one glance on your iPhone, iPad and Mac. Widgets come in small, medium and large sizes. You’ll find them in the widget gallery and you can choose a widget’s size.
On iPhone:
1- Start by swiping left to right side of the Home Screen
2- Now try to open the today view and scroll down to locate the widget you are looking for.
3- Touch the Home Screen and tap “+” at the top of the screen to open the widget gallery
4- Slightly press and hold a chosen widget until it starts to jiggling then drag it to the right side screen
5- Now, drag the widget for placing it on Home Screen and then tap done. Cool
Widgets are glance able because they provide only a small amount of information for quick review. A widget’s idea can reflect an aspect of the app’s main purpose, for example, a Yoga widget could show a date and character for the next exercise date coming in future, or a calorie-tracking app might show calories burned for the day. By the way, widgets are not another application but just a SwiftUI view.
