Protect your Weekend!

It's Friday morning, as you contemplate what to accomplish today, you begin to daydream about your weekend plans. You are leaving the office, and have a grand weekend planned at a quaint bed-and-breakfast in the country with your spouse or you’ve planned happy hour with friends going to see your favorite band and tickets to the big game. As you arrive at work you wonder, did you do everything you could to protect this weekend? 

The answer is “YES”, for your critical Advanced Process Control (APC) applications and Software Continuous Emission Monitor (CEM) applications - if you have purchased software support and applications support.

With Software Support, you get:

1.     Software Updates – Your critical applications are up-to-date on the latest release of the software. This means that bugs that existed in previous releases have been fixed and the software has been tested on the most current version of the operating system. Furthermore, you are taking advantage of the most recent add-ons and enhancements to the software.

2.     Technical support call and e-mail – With software support, if there is an issue with the software, you can place a support call or e-mail to the technical support department. Without this, you could wait weeks or months for a contract to be signed to get a question answered.

3.     Knowledge base access – You can access the product knowledge base to get the latest technical tips, updates, and resolutions to known issues.

With Engineering support you get the benefits of software support plus:

1.     Engineering help with the solution. Much like Excel, changes and issues are frequently in the formulas. With engineering support, you get help with the application as a whole.

2.     Engineers available for site visits, remote assistance, etc.

With Application Support you get the benefits of software support plus:

1.     Proactive support to keep your system running and delivering value as well as a backup of your application. Being proactive helps prevent problems before they start

2.     Concierge Engineer with intimate knowledge of your system. As we become more and more specialized, it is good to have an engineer knowledgeable with the software, solution, and the areas of your system that the solution is used on.

3.     Maintain the value of your solution. As equipment ages, this can cause changes in the Advanced Process Control model gains. It is best to periodically update and refresh the models to maintain the value of the original solution.

Rockwell strongly recommends that customers take advantage of application support, at least for the 1st year. This is true for APC and Software CEM(r) customers. Having application support helps maintain, demonstrate and in some cases improve the value that was achieved after the initial project. With a Rockwell engineer available, your staff is able to keep more of the solution online and working for you.

Because you have paid for software and application support of your critical applications they have been periodically updated and reviewed, you can rest easy and enjoy your weekend. You have a dedicated team of people working with you.
