Program Test Automation Day

Program Test Automation Day

June 22nd 2017, World Trade Center Rotterdam

Show me the Value is the theme of the Test Automation Day (TAD) this year because Test automation is never a goal on its own. That’s why, we as program committee, have summoned test automation specialists to show the participants of the Test Automation Day (TAD), the great value of test automation. And if you are talking about the value of test automation, we were thinking off:

  • Increase enjoyment of the work such as software development
  • Support (the business) in the validation of software
  • Increasing the motivation of testers and developers by supporting them
  • Avoid production disruptions
  • Higher stability of the system so more confidence in the system Supporting innovation

Based on dozens of entries, we came to a program we are proud of. Our keynote speakers will compensate (a bit) for the remarkable low entries done by female speakers. Let me introduce them to you:

Gwen Stewart will be sharing her story about how she deployed automation strategies at top companies like Expedia, Microsoft, Amazon and the BBC. The afternoon program we kick off with Isabel Evans, who will tell us about the importance of user experience (UX) at test automation. Between these two ladies Stephan Janeway, will have a keynote based on his experiences in a major (personal) change, in which he became responsible for a development team and will share how he and his team dealt with putting the test automation in progress. The closing keynote at TAD will be done by Julian Harty, who will tell us more about the leading automation techniques that us, as testers, can help to become more efficient, so that we’re able to show more value.

In between the keynotes we also have interesting parallel sessions, such as

·        The value of TA for testing Internet of Things,

·        How we will test robots (in the future),

·        Mobile testing and TA,

·        Introduction of TA in your organization,

·        Testing in production (?!),

·        The value of BDD,

·        The evolution of TA.

And workshops on:

·        The journey of becoming a TA framework for the perfect system test design

·        The influence of human factors for successful test automation

·        Heuristics for testing mobile apps and how you can use these right away.

(if you want to see more of the program, follow this link)

As a program committee we think that we came up with an interesting program for TAD 2017 and therefore we hope to welcome you in Rotterdam on Thursday June 22nd and with this link you can register for the conference.

See you soon in the beautiful city of Rotterdam!

On behave of the program committee,

Sally Goble, Dorothy Graham and Jan Jaap Cannegieter,

Ard Kramer, Program chair TAD 2017
