Welcome to Process Matters

Welcome to Process Matters! This newsletter is dedicated to helping leaders uncover the hidden potential in their organizations through human centric design methods to achieve more efficient processes. At Brittany Parks Process Consulting, we know that strong processes don’t just keep work moving—they build clarity, reduce frustration, and gives teams the freedom to focus on what truly drives results.

Feature Article: The Hidden Cost of Inefficiency

Every minute wasted in a broken process compounds over time. Missed handoffs, redundant approvals, and unclear workflows often add up to thousands of dollars in lost productivity each year.

The good news? Process improvement doesn’t require a massive overhaul. It often starts with asking one question: “What step can we eliminate, automate, clarify or simplify?” By tackling inefficiencies one at a time, organizations gain back hours of capacity while improving employee satisfaction.

Case Spotlight: Streamlining a Bottleneck

A client recently faced delays because employees needed four different approvals before launching new projects. By mapping the workflow and identifying decision redundancies, we reduced the approval steps from four to two—without compromising quality.

🎯 The result? Projects moved 40% faster, teams had more autonomy, and leaders regained bandwidth for strategic priorities.

Quick Tool: SIPOC Mapping

One of the fastest ways to understand a process is through a SIPOC Map (Suppliers, Inputs, Process, Outputs, Customers).

  • Suppliers: Who provides inputs?
  • Inputs: What resources are needed?
  • Process: What are the key steps?
  • Outputs: What results are produced?
  • Customers: Who benefits from the output?

This high-level view helps teams clarify scope, eliminate unnecessary steps, and align on what “success” really looks like.

Industry Insight: Process as a Competitive Advantage

Organizations that excel at process improvement don’t just cut costs—they gain agility. In a competitive environment, the ability to adapt quickly, reduce waste, and execute with precision becomes a differentiator.

The most successful leaders are those who treat process improvement as a strategic asset, not a one-time project.
