Predictive Analytics

The world runs on data streaming from every device, system, process, application and many more. Organizations looking to gain value from their data to accelerate the growth remains always a struggle. To get biggest
data dividends companies need to invest in the right data sources, metrics, analytic tools. Data and analytics tools can help organizations accelerate growth in constantly changing business.

There is increasing topics online and offline covering predictive analytics, data mining, customer data analytics etc. Many organizations already using data mining tools with many participating in predictive analytics
technology. Predictive Analytics is increasingly discussed topic and started to gain momentum with lot of companies started to implement it putting predictive analytics at top of analytics technology adoption list.

Most of the predictive analytics projects are currently focussed on customer behavior with few being even talked about devices, infrastructure , smart grid systems and IoT(Internet of Things). BI software tools
has been used for many years which is still being the primary preferred choice, but the growth on BI tools over past years is not becoming a good compelling reason for better decision-making and improved business processes
which is leading organizations to evaluate on advanced predictive analytics tools.

Business need to create a culture revolving around advanced analytics. Analytics can cut cost and improve performance of data-intensive analytical processes. New technologies like in-memory analytics, complex event processing tools
are getting matured enough for stronger adoption, but organizations must be sure what they need to use and are ready for those tools. All these technologies are new, so business need to invest time and effort to try and require
big time commitment with willingness to experiment to envision the results which will be beneficial on longer run. Demonstrating the potential ROI for these projects can be difficult but doable as it is more a matter of
corporate mindset willing to experiment / try to understand the real benefits than on hard-dollar calculations. Businesses cannot depend on hard metrics as it is difficult to work out the benefit on ROI. Organizations
should do their best in defining the measures and focus on the soft benefits.

There is no universal magic equation for ROI, but there are clear values and benefits. Delivering high-value analytics will certainly accelerates decisions. The adoption of predictive analytics can be really beneficial across different spectrum
ranging from Healthcare, Network, Financial, Communications etc. Without experimenting it is tough choice to gain an understanding on the ROI. As more and more organizations are increasingly adopting new technologies, the strive for new experiments on early adoption will be soon could be a reality ;)
