PRACADEMIC
I consider myself a PRACADEMIC – the successes are great when integrating the academic approach to deeply understand what we do and the practical approach to do it in a way that works for others.
Looking up definitions of academic and practical make them sound like opposites. Sometimes I get feedback regarding less interest in the academic aspects of things when speaking to “practical” people and I get feedback regarding less interest in the practical aspects of things when speaking to “academic” people – seems like anyone could consider things “too academic” or “not understood enough to accept”
Being PRACADEMIC is challenging as it takes learning more than one field, but the results (impact) are much greater.
Agreed and theres something to be said for undertaking 'academic' work but without the 'constraints' ( both positive and negative) of an academic environment
