Power Platform Updates
Microsoft continues to add more and more features to its Power Platform making it easier to analyze, act, and automate on your data to digitally transform your business. The Power Platform is three products – Power BI, Power Apps, and Power Automate. I think my favorites are Power Virtual Agents and Robotic Process Automation although Teams Integration is cool too.
Notable announcements over the past couple of weeks:
Analyze (Power BI)
Integration with Azure Synapse Analytics – Link Power BI and Azure Big Data together to develop and manage end to end analytics.
Automated Machine learning – Business analysts without a strong background in machine learning can build ML models to solve business problems that once required data scientists.
Cognitive Services – Engage with unstructured data by detecting language, scoring sentiment, extracting key phrases, and identifying objects in images.
Act (Power Apps)
AI Builder – Automate processes and predict outcomes to help improve business performance.
Power Virtual Agents— New capability for no-code/low-code apps to create and deploy intelligent AI-powered virtual agents.
Portals – Create responsive websites to extend data stored in the Common Data Service (CDS) to employees or users outside their organizations, authenticating with external accounts like Facebook, LinkedIn, Google and others.
Microsoft Teams Integration – Publish their apps as Teams apps directly to your company’s app library in Teams, making them easy to discover for users.
Automate (Power Automate)
AI Builder – Automate processes and predict outcomes to help improve business performance.
Robotic Process Automation (RPA) – Deliver end-to-end automation solution that spans AI, APIs, and UI.
