Power BI: Refresh dataset using Microsoft flow

Recently, Microsoft Flow has released a new connector, using that you can refresh your Power BI dataset. This feature is in preview.

Previously, we were using Rest api to refresh our datasets. But now wait is over, you can use a Microsoft flow to refresh the dataset in easy manner.

Steps:

1.Select the workspace from the drop down menu

2.Select the dataset for which you want that data should be refreshed.

Note: You can also set the frequency for data refresh, In this example, I have use "Recurrence" to set up my schedule refresh and also I have configured "Send an mail" for Refresh notification.

Some important points:

1.With Power BI pro, there is a limitation of 8 times refresh per day.

2.It also works with Power BI free licence :)

3.If Power BI dataset refresh takes more than 1 hour then refresh would auto fail.

4.This connector is still in preview.
