Phinisms

Phinisms

30 thoughts nurtured over the years. What bits of wisdom have you gathered on life's amazing journey?

1.     If it doesn’t make sense, don’t try to make sense out of it!

2.     To be human is to have a story.

3.     Your stories govern your life…for better or worse. So… what’s your story?

4.     Fear is related to judgment. Whose judgment do you fear?

5.     If you don’t want to be villainized, show people you care.

6.     Let’s try this… as a first safe step and see how it feels.

7.     You are responsible to the people you manage, not for them.

8.     Control as a leadership or management style is dead. Muerte. No mas.

9.     You don’t have to self-sacrifice to be a hero.

10. The greatest trap of the hero is over-commitment

11. I am ____ in the making!

12. How will I “show up” today?

13. You want to be a non-anxious presence in a hyper-anxious world.

14. You can make people feel good about themselves by finding the good in them.

15. People want to know they can trust you. Trust is born out of skills and desire.

16. The “negative hero” is someone whose intentions are good, but outcomes are not.

17. The most creative place is a kindergarten room.

18. I have a low tolerance for bullshit. I’m working on that.

19. Expect nothing and create everything.

20. You can’t help people more than they want to help themselves.

21. The zeitgeist of today’s executive is overwhelm and under-appreciation.

22. You are the leader people say you are.

23. Seriousness is a disease. Put your red nose on!

24. I’m selling job insurance. How much would you pay to keep your job?

25. The meaning in our work is the meaning we bring to our work.

26. If you want people to be more engaged, then be more engaging!

27. You’re only “old” when you spend more time in your past than in your future.

28. Time and energy management.

29. Nobody wins a lawsuit.

30. Money only makes people more of who they already are.

You have a lot of great thoughts Don It's great to be reminded of them after the courses and the book. My favourite is: Make people feel good about themselves. Find the good in them. There are a few quotes that I treasure (except yours), but there are two that resonate with me very strongly. “Progress is impossible without Change, and those who cannot change their Minds cannot change anything.” Without open mind you can do nothing. 😁 "Be the Change you wish to see." Especially useful when a difficult but right decision has to be taken and as the essence of leadership. 😉
