PERSONALIZED LEARNING

Personalized learning is an educational strategy that seeks to tailor learning to each student's unique strengths, needs, abilities, and interests. Each student is given a learning plan based on what they already know and how they learn best.

What it is all about ?

To gain an understanding of what individualised learning is, imagine a classroom where there is no "one size fits all" approach to instruction. The teacher does not give the same things to all of the students. Instead, the teacher takes each pupil on a unique experience. The what, when, where, and how of learning is customised to each student's unique talents, skills, needs, and interests. Some talents may be learned at various rates by students. Their learning plans, however, keep students on schedule to achieve the requirements for a high school graduation. Most pupils do not experience this type of classroom. However, it is the ultimate aim of individualised learning, which is currently being implemented successfully in some schools and is spreading in numerous states.

Children learn in a variety of ways and at varying rates. A teaching model based on the assumption is personalised learning. Each student is given a "learning plan" that takes into account how they learn, what they know, and their talents and interests. It is the polar opposite of most schools' "one size fits all" strategy. Students collaborate with their professors to develop short- and long-term objectives. This procedure encourages pupils to take ownership of their learning.

Teachers ensure that learning plans or project-based learning meet academic criteria. They also look to determine if pupils are displaying the skills they should be learning as they advance through their schooling.

Personalized learning's potential

Personalized learning is still not frequently employed in schools. Many areas remain to be investigated. However, this method has the potential to help lessen the stigma associated with special education while also better meeting the needs of children with learning and cognitive challenges.

Personalized learning can also provide kids with opportunities to develop self-advocacy skills. It helps children to express themselves on what fascinates them. It also enables children to participate as equal participants in their learning experience.
