Persist...
When I was growing up, people used to always say, "You can be anything that you want." I think there is some truth in that, but the bottom line is that the few who persist are the ones who actually get what they want. Not everyone can be what they want.... because they don't put in the work. Not everyone can persist, because it is a skill learned over time.
I love the quote, "persistence is self-discipline in action" for many reasons. Persistence and self discipline go so hand in hand that the lines might get blurred.
If you want to lose weight, you have to have the self discipline to put the right things in your body and get more active. You have to have continued self-discipline, or persistence, to truly reach your weight loss goal.
If your goal is to save save $1000 dollars every paycheck, well, start saving and stop spending. Create better habits of self-discipline and be okay with sacrificing material things to reach your goal. It's simple, but uncomfortable; that's why not everyone persists.
There are millions examples of this, but for those out there who need this, just keep going. Keep reaching out to people, keep making the extra call, keep honing in on your skills, keep putting the work in; The work will pay off and eventually, you can be "anything you want."
