Parameterization of Arbitrary Surfaces in Architectural Contexts

This paper discusses the parameterization of arbitrary surfaces in relation to temporary design technologies in architecture, engineering and related fields in computer science. Modelling methods in architectural design differ from mechanical engineering, simulation, or computer graphics and require advanced techniques operating on quad-meshes, including surface-analysis,-simplification,-refinement, and remeshing. Therefore the main aim of the paper is to show the impact of parameterization of arbitrary surfaces on the design process, including possible applications to contemporary problems in architectural geometry. Additionally, the research focuses on the efficiency of algorithms.

Параметризация позволяет за короткое время просмотреть различные конструктивные схемы и избежать принципиальных ошибок. Параметрическое моделирование существенно отличается от обычного двухмерного черчения или трёхмерного моделирования!
