OpenProject Release 14.0: Progress reporting across work package hierarchies
Dear OpenProject Community,
May has now begun and I would like to take another look back at OpenProject 14.0.
In this release we introduced the progress reporting across work package hierarchies. It was already possible to record progress in OpenProject in the past. However, this feature was detached from the respective time entries and did not work across hierarchies. Since it is absolutely crucial to keep a good overview of the estimates, effort and progress, especially in multi-project management, we have now optimized it. Please note: If you have previously worked with Progress, Work and Remaining Work in your projects, I recommend reading this article from our Product Team to find out exactly what has improved with the new release and how we will treat certain exceptions.
One of our goals is to ensure that less of the team's time is wasted in bad meetings. We have therefore further improved our dynamic meetings. For example, it will now be possible to add attachments and display them directly in the meeting items, set responsible people, and view the meeting history.
We are also continuing to develop our project portfolio management. Project attributes can now be displayed in a structured way on the project overview page and can also be included in the updated project lists. Also, we have further harmonized many of the views with Primer, for example the page headers.
Automatic notifications for unhealthy file storages are now available for the integrations. OneDrive/SharePoint integration now allows copying of automatic project folders, which means that project temples can now also be set-up with automatically managed project folders.
Our team planner gets a boost with a 4 and 8-week planning view and admins now receive a reminder when project members are removed with whom other work packages have been shared.
Find out more about the breaking changes, all features, improvements, bug fixes, code maintenance, and more in our release notes.
Once again we have had great sponsors, like the City of Cologne for the project portfolio management features, or the BMI for progress reporting. Thank you for supporting the further development of open source software with public money.
Please share your feedback with us. Any feedback is very valuable for us to further improve the product and our services. I am looking forward to hearing from you.
Thank you for being a part of this amazing Community.
Best regards,
Birthe Lindenthal

Progress reporting across work package hierarchies
We introduce progress reporting across work package hierarchies with 14.0. With the new automatic calculation and user experience, tracking work, remaining work and progress across work package hierarchies is now properly possible and consistent.
Improvements for Meetings
We have gradually added further features to the Meetings module. With 14.0, users can again enjoy a few helpful improvements for dynamic Meetings such as the possibility to add attachments to meetings.
Project attributes on project overview page and more
With OpenProject 14.0, you are now able to view and edit custom fields for projects in a structured way, organized in sections, on the project overview page. These fields are now referred to as ‘Project attributes’. Admins can edit them directly on the project overview page and include them in the project lists.
File storage improvements
Administrators of an instance get an automatic alerts for an unhealthy file storage, including control with toggle options. Also, it is now possible to copy automatically managed project folders for OneDrive/SharePoint when copying projects.
