CoCreateX - People, Projects, Opportunities.

Dear Friends,

I invite you to join our brand new CoCreateX Catalysts LinkedIn Community, still no graphics, but we know Rishi Murugesan, so it'll be beautiful someday. Thanks for everything, Rishi!

Over the past 3+ years, my friends and I made enormous investments for the benefit of our regional community, a nano-sip of the world.

We built a machine shop, engineering laboratory, and put in guest bedrooms for people to live-and-work. The combination locks on the door allow us to share what we have with all of our friends. We have a secret Facebook group dedicated for people who have our door and other codes.

Always prioritizing culture, we have been so conservative as to often not charge for things of substantial cash value, specifically things we paid for: 3D printing material, high quality poster paper and inks, parts, screws, etc., that we provide so generously, for the possibility that we might enable anyone willing to try to create something about which they are incredibly passionate. We do greatly appreciate those anonymous donors who have helped us enormously and the many honored Twin Cities businesses and media outlets, like the Minnesota Business Magazine. Special thanks to Steve LeBeau!

But even before the shop-walls were up, and the power was installed, before there was AC and light. Light. A ferocious group of us were imagining the future and creating in the present. Dozens of projects like the FireWave, grappling devices for drones, submarines and super small structures, have been the output of our Adventure in building a sustaining culture for our friends and for the rest of the world. Peace is our mission.

Excitedly, I am very pleased to announce that CoCreateX, as we are maturing, but not too much, has been approached by a number of companies to support possible R&D efforts. And we are SO excited to work with some of, arguably, America's best midsize businesses (revenue measured in fractions of a billion...). Amongst the best because of their culture and sense of possibility, and because of their sheer determination to pursue genuine new avenues for product development and commercialization.

It is our desire to share these opportunities for co-creation with the Twin Cities, including individuals, businesses, and creative communities. I am imagining technical solution competitions, original idea challenges, and N^N opportunities for people to learn new skills, build new capabilities, and find people with whom they enjoy collaborating and creating. With all the possibilities, as often, were starting off with micro events on subject matter that is relevant. Our Facebook community CoCreateX Catalysts has been growing organically while doing nothing other than helping those who have the courage to ask for it.

I can not express how fortunate I feel and how thankful I am for everyone who, by sharing their generosity, created inspiration for us all by advancing people's lives and boosting their inherent sense of possibility and belief in one's self.

We have many events coming up. We're very excited to be cooperatively hosting a major panel / audience discussion on the subject of intellectual property law - at the intersection of big businesses, small companies, and individual inventors. However, as we host our welding classes, taught by the talented Scott Zimmerman, we like to learn all levels of a subject in the same sitting. It's more engaging that way. As a result, we are expecting to cover some basic definitions and examples of IP, and some quite technical subject matter around right to practice searching and the patenting of software, business processes, and algorithms.

So, to include as much as possible, our professional community members who reside here on LinkedIn who we've patiently neglected to spare your time while we got things figured out with our aunts and uncles and brothers and sisters and old friends on Facebook, who will all join us here, I hope; I invite you to join our brand new LinkedIn Community where we will celebrate successful people and projects, and share the opportunities that constitute our culture with you. As has been fun on the Facebook Group, CoCreateX Catalysts, please do not hesitate to ask a question, ask for help, share something interesting, or jam with your friends.

Thanks everyone for your few minutes and greatly appreciated support.

Sincerely,

Nick Powley

Sounds great, Nick! But as long as you mentioned the Minneapolis Business Journal, I'd be grateful if you could also list Minnesota Business magazine as a supporter -- or at least as the source of the above photo. Thanks!
