And Now For Something Completely Different

And Now For Something Completely Different

There's been a change of plans. A redirection of focus. A modification of momentum.

After 25 plus years enveloped in the Microsoft ecosystem, I've decided to take a journey on a path previously untaken. I'm now a Solution Engineer for SalesForce.com in New York City.

This change will result in a change of direction for my blog posts here on LinkedIn. Once I'm past the learning phase at SalesForce, I foresee some topics including:

  • Describing SalesForce Platform in context of the Microsoft world
  • How to connect to Microsoft data sources on-premise and in the cloud
  • How to connect SalesForce to the blockchain
  • SalesForce's Data Science capabilities

For the uninitiated, the SalesForce platform allows companies and organizations to create cloud based applications with minimal coding. Not just CRM apps (though certainly that's a good place to start) but any application you can imagine. The SalesForce Platform is a giant database itself. You create objects (tables) and enter values into those objects. It's basically a walled garden that makes application development and data integration across multiple solutions much, much easier. And the interface to the user is much more consistent.

This link gives an overview of the SalesForce Platform offering:

Stand by for more in the near future!

Congrats, Mike. As always, you will be a great asset those around you. Best of luck!
