The Next Chapter...

The Next Chapter...

Dear Friends,

As I approach my last day with Cabinetworks Group on May 8, I want to reach out and thank all of you for your relationship over the years. I am thankful for my career and for those I have had the pleasure of working with.

After a four year enlistment in the US Navy and working my way through college, I have had three jobs in my professional career. Shortly after graduation I broke into the work force during a recession in the early 80’s then jumped into the cabinet segment with MasterCraft in 1989 and lastly was called by Merillat in 1996 and here I have stayed for almost 24 years.

My employers have been extremely good to me and I appreciate the opportunities that have been afforded to me and the people I have met and worked with. My first sales job was working for a wholesale distributor in Lubbock Texas where I cut my teeth in selling to people that didn’t want to see me. Persistence and relationships proved to be the formula that provided success and opened doors. I had no intention of going into sales after I received my Finance degree but the economic conditions at the time forced my direction. It has been a wonderful career and supported my family in a way that I could have only dreamed about.

I want to thank Dan Law, who has passed, as my sales mentor. Mike Williams who called me and asked me to interview with MasterCraft in Albuquerque. Mike and I competed in the appliance category at the time and this is the one of the finest compliments I have ever received. Pat Fenlon, who I have lost track of, for hiring me at MasterCraft. My Operations Manager, Tim Twyeffort, for not taking it easy on me and teaching me the cabinetry business, Jerald Castenda for calling me and asking me to interview with Merillat and Marty Godin for hiring me. John Czerwonka was a huge proponent and promoted me three times and to him I am grateful for his trust in my abilities. I want to thank Steve Ingersoll for trusting I could do the job for him and giving me my current opportunity.

Most of all I want to thank the customers who have become friends and have been the very best part of my career. I would not have had the career I have had without you.

On to the next chapter.

All the best now and always,

David
