Multi-cloud strategy and data security are enterprise-critical
One recent 2021 Cloud Report mentions that 93% of enterprises are considering a multi-cloud strategy for their digital footprint. As multi cloud adoption rapidly grows, data security becomes even more critical. While going for a multi-cloud strategy, enterprises are faced with different security systems and fragmented access. It is for the cloud team to ensure that data is safe, the employees stay productive and a simplified management is in place. There are multi-cloud security solutions that protect and prevent enterprise and customer data, assets and applications from advanced security threats and cyber attacks.
According to another global survey “security constitutes one of the most daunting threats to server and operating system stability and reliability.”
In a multi-cloud deployment, the enterprise has to ensure there is properly architected frameworks and guidelines based on security, performance, operational efficiency and cost optimization. In a multi-cloud deployment, security controls might be the same for each platform, but will differ when it comes to architecture tools and processes. The IT team has to first ensure visibility across cloud services. It is for the enterprise to implement the right controls to secure the application and data even while the vendor provides platform-layer security. The team should factor in single sign-on even while controlling what actions users can take once logged in. A secure workspace that includes blocking websites that may be potentially dangerous to company operations or even irrelevant is way to embark upon secure digitization.

A flexi or multi-cloud architecture is a smart move, particularly for mid-sized and enterprise-level entities. But what about security even while it improves efficiency, allows quick scalability and helps in rapid innovation, unlike a single platform which may limit the application to operate on as the company expands? The team should integrate constant protection with encryption and IBM is ahead in this realm.
