MS-Project Export Wizard to Excel

Since not all Windows users have the MS-Project installed on their systems, you may need to export your work plan to Excel before being able to share it. For this purpose the export wizard exists. In order to use it you need to "Save as" the MSP file, and in the "Save as type" choose "Excel Workbook". As always you need to choose the location of the saved file.

The following menu will appear as soon as you click on "Save" -

Click on "Next>", and then again while the "Selected Data" (default) is chosen. In the next menu choose the "New Map" (default) option, and in the menu after that tick the options you want to export: Tasks, Resources or Assignments, and in the bottom section choose "Export includes headers" (default) option -

After you click on "Next>", the menu which allows you to choose what you want to export will appear. Here you can either choose the columns one by one, or choose the entire table from the MSP file. You can also choose a filter to apply (as long as it exists in the MSP file). At the bottom of the menu you will see a preview of how the Excel file will look like. You can also type in a name of the column header for the Excel file (the default is the MSP column header). Like most Office apps, there is a large range of customization readily available.

Clicking on "Finish" will save the Excel file in the destination you choose at the beginning, while clicking on "Next>" will allow you to save the map you outlined in this menu.
