The Move

The Move

Yes. I have moved. If you want the address please send me a message. On to the story!

Years ago I hired a national moving company. The price was ridiculous so this time my plan is to rent a truck and get some muscled friends to help me move. The overall theme of the move was "We are going to need a bigger truck". With apologies to the movie Jaws, I am amazed with how much stuff I have  accumulated over the years.

I sit down and begin the internet clicks for a moving van. A local place I know rents them so off I go, screen after screen after screen to make my reservation and order some supplies. Then something magical happened.

Up pops a screen that asks "Would you like help with your move?" Heck yes!! It brings me a page that lists several local options for hiring people to help me move. After review I selected Reliable Movers out of Worcester Mass. Customer Service time!

Toby (one of the owners) called me within 10 minutes of my "click". He confirmed the day and time, explained the fees, and even offered to pick up the truck, drive it, and return it for a very reasonable fee. they showed up on time, were professional, and ready to go. I was ready too. My role was to make sure we had coffee and doughnuts. They did an incredible job packing the truck and letting me know that not everything would fit but they would do their best. When they were done loading the truck there was not enough room left for a toothpick. They were masters at completing the truck jigsaw puzzle.

I can tell you that moving is quite a production. I was fortunate to find a great service provider!

I've had to move several times over the years and good movers are the best. I'm often had to rent the truck online then switch to offline to find movers. Yours is a fantastic illustration of how a joint partnership like this truck rental is fantastic for the movers.
