Marks Management System

This is a skill development project (SDP-2) on Marks Management System (MMS) at KL University. We are a team of two sophomore students at KL University.

About Marks Management System

A Marks Management System (MMS) allows educational institutions to store, manage, and analyze student grades and performance data. It automates the process of recording, calculating, and reporting student grades, and provides a centralized repository for grades.

Introduction

The main purpose of this project is to design a simple MMS website to store and manage student grades efficiently, reduce manual labor and error-prone manual processes. Users can be more comfortable using the Modified MMS.

We explored some MMS projects and took reference from YouTube, to know more about the user requirements for the application.

We have also referred to an article on Marks Management System: An Interactive Web-Based Approach for Academic Advising published in June 2017 by Bernard Ugalde, Allan Salburo and Yashir Ambula from Salalah College of Technology. This article was very helpful to us to understand the head and tail of the MMS and how it can help and improve the academics of the students.

We surveyed and interviewed potential users of this app. This gives us the user's interest and requirements for the application.

Insights Gained

• Most users are satisfied with the overall ERP. But to upload marks for any project reviews or assignments they need a platform.
• Need a platform to track the progress of the students especially counsellors.
• The platform should notify the respective user after uploading any data regarding academics.
• The users need a feature to send the academic progress of the students via SMS, Email etc.

Conclusion

In this project, we build a website which will be capable of managing the academic progress of a student, minimizing the labor work of manually accessing the students by their respective higher officials.
