Looking Back To Get Ahead

Looking Back To Get Ahead

Looking back can be an extremely profitable and rewarding thing to do periodically. What i mean is that usually your past will let you in on clues as to what your future my hold. Now, not always but for the most part history repeats itself. It may look different but it's the same problem or solution you have been dealing and solving your whole career. Approach it with confidence, you are the expert.

Go through those old emails. Call colleagues you haven't talked to in a while. You should take inventory of things that have failed and learn from them so you don't repeat it. Go over your successes and inventory those. If they worked then i bet they would work now. Its a proactive world these days and it's easy to get caught in the daily flow of working, running a business, or a hobby you forgot about. Inventory it all so you can review it later and analyze what needs to happen.

I learn a great deal from this. I learn my issues and I learn how to avoid them, if at all possible. Its probable that you can change outcomes and create new opportunities when you look back and often times those are profitable. You may have been in a different situation the first time but the underlying fact is that everything changes. You will as well.

The point: Go through the stuff you left and forgot on the back burner. If you really want to be profitable you call your current clients and past clients and ask them what you can do for them. I haven't had one single time i did this that i didn't end up with more work for the new year.

Thank you so much for reading.
