On Linkedin... EVERYONE Is Valuable!!!

So... As part of your digital business strategy, do you make a negative judgment call on whether you will connect with an individual via Linkedin... Or whether you will fully engage with them, based on the number of connections they have?

Sadly, it seems some folks do just that!

Remember... It SHOULD NOT matter how many connections an individual has on Linkedin… Or any social media platform for that matter.

On Linkedin EVERYONE Is valuable!!!

I've got the impression, during past conversations, some individuals refused to engage with me because, in THEIR opinion, I didn't have enough connections or engagement on my posts... YIKES!!!

It's worth pointing out at this point, they too read the posts, yet DID NOT "like", or leave a comment!

Now, that's fine, it has to be accepted... Not everyone will connect with us, or engage with whatever we post, but to highlight that when someone is simply attempting to make a business connection, still makes me chuckle.

It's similar to when I see folks online actually hurling abuse and insulting each other, about the amount of Instagram/Twitter followers they have!

Is this the school playground or what?!!! Ridiculous!!!🙂

That said, we should appreciate, in business, for some folks, social media numbers DO matter!

Results can differ, depending on the nature of the business, the products and services being offered, the market place, demographics etc, etc, etc.

Everyone will have their own particular reason for using Linkedin... Plus their own particular way of using it!

One of the most difficult things to navigate on Linkedin is making connections with the RIGHT people...

I'm not referring necessarily to those whom you think can help YOU!

Rather, those whom YOU can add value to!

The "right individual" can start as a simple connection today... But because you've developed a GENUINE professional business relationship, they can become a MAJOR business associate in the future...

Better still, become a GENUINE friend.🙂

Is fear, intimidation, or traditional corporate thinking, regarding "how business should be done"... Causing restrictions and holding you back from reaching out and connecting with others on here?

If yes... Then it's probably time to have a rethink in order to break free!

In terms of business, you could literally be just ONE connection away from meeting someone AWESOME!!!✅

I shall repeat... It SHOULD NOT matter how many connections an individual has on Linkedin… Or any social media platform for that matter.

I totally get the points your making in your article. Often, it can appear to be ' business snobbery.' Unfortunately, we live in an age, where sometimes superficial markers, like how many followers you have, will determine if someone is going to connect with you or not. Shame that...as opportunities can go overlooked, if they are only basing it, on a numbers game. I suggest with your knowledge and perception of the market and how people do business. A book on changing the game of connecting is fit for your purpose in telling a different story and encouraging a different way of thinking about connections......There is a guy called' Praise George' on Facebook, who has developed lots of mini-books on different subject areas...Could be worth looking into Mr JeanPd. Your mindset on business is ' intelligent, sharp, strategic.. Monetize on that..!! Your friend PH..
