LEARNING THAT NEVER STOPS!!

LEARNING THAT NEVER STOPS!!

To all those people who think you stop learning once your schools and colleges are over,

The truth is you DON’T. You would have heard people say, “the time you complete school with good grades is adequate” but you would have not thought about the college that is about to come or the career and so on it goes.

Whenever you try to use a technology or learn a new language or play a new sport or acquire a new skill, whatever you do, you learn. You do it either for personal reasons or professional reasons but learning takes place forever. Even our regular encounters with coworkers, neighbors, and friends and the behaviors you acquire from them can be considered lifelong learning.

“Anyone who stops learning is old, whether at twenty or eighty. Anyone who keeps learning stays young. The greatest thing in life is to keep your mind young.”
-Henry Ford

There might be a lot of questions in your mind, “Won’t I get bored if I learn always?” or “Would I be interested in learning to that extent?”. The answer is it depends on the individual and their needs but what happens for sure is that you keep on learning but what you learn may differ from person to person. Some ways in which you can make the learning interesting are to recognize and set a goal, analyze the resources available, structure it, and get committed to it. For instance, I am a person with an interest in a particular event that took place. I would have an interest and I would start learning more about the topic and if I have an idea to research the topic, then the learning intensity would be high. The time of learning would change from 30 mins a day to hours and hours of learning. As I said it depends on the individual’s interest. It is up to us to make it the way you like.

We people invent and reinvent ourselves whenever we find or create the opportunity to do so. Lifelong learning can improve our quality of life by increasing our understanding of the world around us, providing us with more and better options, and making the world a better place to live.
