Launch Your Idea Using No-Code Tools
"As we’ve already learned from the steady democratization of other arts, soon you’ll be able to make music without being a musician. One hundred years ago, the only people technically capable of taking a photograph were few dedicated experimenters. Today anyone with a phone - which is everyone - can instantly take a photo that is a hundred times better in most dimensions than one taken by the average professional a century ago. We are all photographers. With the new tools accelerating the fluid flow of bits and copies, we will all become musicians.” - Kevin Kelley, Inevitable.
A similar revolution has taken over the technology world. Previously, if we wanted to create a website, we would outsource the work to a team specialized in website development. Now, sites such as Wix, Shopify, or Weebly allows anyone to design, set up and test visually stunning eCommerce websites with minimal technical experience. And hey! Thanks to those creative photographers mentioned above, we now have quality stock photos and videos that can be included in the sites. Over the past few years, technology and programmers have been helping non-coders “create their own” websites, apps, designs, and plug-ins. Such platforms are enabling non-tech entrepreneurs launch side-projects, accelerate the mobile app development process, form communities, and create minimum viable products(MVP) to test market demand. Perhaps technology will ensure we all become change-makers!
How do such platforms allow non-programmers to create apps? The answer is no-code development platforms. The user requires 0 coding experience and no prior experience of technology or programming language. The visual based programming interfaces enables the user to interact with visual elements to direct how the site/app appears and behaves. (See screenshot of the bubble app development platform below) Example: If the user clicks on the “Submit” button, direct the user to the confirmation page. This high level of abstraction from code enables the user to focus on creating intuitive interfaces freeing them from the need to know the underlying logic or language.
