The Large Language Model (LLM) Boot Camp for Knowledge Workers

A Co-created curriculum

Using multiple prompts and refinements within ChatGPT, I co-created the week 1 curriculum for a 2-week boot camp focused on knowledge workers. If you're someone who sits or stands at a desk and creates reports, presentations, spreadsheets, and graphics, this boot camp is for you.

It will be a practical and supportive environment for you to learn and discuss multiple use cases and become proficient and confident in using different types of generative technologies in your career.

Week 1:

Day 1: Introduction to Large Language Models:

  • Assignment: Overview of LLMs and their use cases.
  • Homework: Read articles and watch videos about LLMs.

Day 2: Building Effective Prompts

  • Assignment: How to design prompts and fine-tune them in real-time.
  • Homework: Experiment with and refine different prompts.

Day 3: Data Collection and Corpus Building

  • Assignment: Technical overview of how to acquire, clean data, and build a corpus so your company could create its own Large Language Model (LLM)
  • Homework: Research datasets for specific projects.

Day 4: Industry Use Cases for LLMs

  • Assignment: brainstorm potential use cases for LLMs in different industries
  • Homework: Research and find who else in your industry is using LLMs

Day 5: Ethical and Societal Implications of LLMs:

  • Homework: Review and reflect with your family, coworkers, or friends on different perspectives.

Check back soon for week 2!

We will be exploring how LLMs can be used to generate sound, images, and videos, among other things. This will provide insight into how LLMs can transform the work environment and enhance the productivity of knowledge workers.

that's truly insane. i would not have thought this was possible a year ago, much less a decade or more in the past.
