Knowledge Knows No Rules

Knowledge Knows No Rules

Can someone tell you what to remember or forget? People have tried to control the preservation and destruction of knowledge but with temporary impact. Leaders try to dismantle what we know by burning or destroying libraries and knowledge stores as was done with the Mayen literature and archeological sites in Iraq. Humanity lives on regardless of attempts to save knowledge in time capsules or frozen seed banks like the Svalbard Global Seed Vault (pictured above) which houses over 1.3 million seed samples from around the globe and is in jeopardy due to global warming.

Is it possible that our knowledge is being saved without us being aware of it? Could the black hole information paradox hold? The possibility rests on the idea that the quantum external surfaces encode the information inside the black hole on the event horizon. Other theories are more ethereal where information may be stored. Theosophists understand that a record of all events, thoughts and feelings throughout all time exists. Judeo-Christian religion documents a Book of Life that contains the names of all who lived. An earthlier possibility is the Hall of Records which is reportedly underneath the Great Sphinx of Giza in Egypt.

Ultimately it is up to each of us to make good choices when approaching opportunities to save or destroy our knowledge. What will you do in your life or vocation to make a difference for those who will live after you? Make good choices when preserving our knowledge and our future will be a better place to live.
