You should follow the below tips to make your identity private and stay secure over the internet.

  • Updates your system, browsers, software and mobile devices.
  • Use antivirus and update the signatures hourly regularly.
  • Use strong passwords and don’t share it with others.
  • Choose the private question and set strong (hard to guess) answers.
  • Use two-factor authentication to protect your accounts and devices.
  • Don’t set auto login option on your PC.
  • Avoid to plug in unknown USB devices into the PC.
  • Disable auto-run functionality.
  • Don’t forget to shut down or lock your PC when you leaving it.
  • Don’t use other’s computers to log-in your sensitive services (such email, banking).
  • Use “Private Browsing” when you use public computers.
  • Only browse known and trusted websites.
  • Download software from trusted sources.
  • Shop only from HTTPS (SSL) secured websites and avoid giving your personal data to phishing websites.
  • Don’t reply to Phishing emails and avoid to share banking, credit card or other private details via email.
  • Clear cookies on a regular basis to avoid unwanted tracking.
  • Frequently get back up your data.
  • Don’t click on suspicious links.
  • Ensure your Wi-Fi is protected and don’t connect with untrusted Wi-Fi networks.
  • Use the firewall.
  • Turn off unnecessary network services (eg. file sharing, screen sharing, remote login).
