Early Beginnings: A Childhood with Computers

Her passion for technology began at home, where her father, a software engineer, sparked her curiosity. Even after he transitioned into government work, his background in tech left a lasting impression. “I got exposure to computers from a very young age,” she says. By eighth grade, coding, particularly Java, became her clear career path.

Her academic journey was influenced by her father’s transferable job, which led to living in different parts of India. Attending both CBSE and ICSE schools gave her a well-rounded foundation. In 2012, she joined IIIT Jabalpur to study Computer Science, and it was there that her passion for coding truly flourished.

From Student to Backend Developer

After graduating in 2016, her professional career began at Capillary Technologies as a backend developer. Over five and a half years, she developed her skills and built a solid foundation in backend systems. But the journey didn’t stop there. She moved to WebEngage and spent two years refining her craft before joining Kindred Group plc , a global leader in gaming and betting technology. Throughout all these transitions, one thing remained constant: a love for backend development. “I knew from the beginning that coding, especially Java, was my path,” she shares.  

Overcoming Challenges, Key Achievements

Throughout her career, she has faced many technical challenges that tested her problem-solving skills. One standout challenge was resolving a recurring race condition. Rather than just patching the problem, she took a proactive approach by creating an execution pipeline with retries, exception handling, and other mechanisms, ultimately reducing system failures by 30%.

One of her proudest moments came when she led a Kubernetes migration project, moving multiple microservices. She also developed a retry mechanism for the queuing system, enhancing communication reliability and reducing failures.

Tanisha is quick to acknowledge that the success of her initiatives is a result of strong team collaboration and her hard work. “It’s never just one person’s idea. Collaboration is key,” she shares. Her approach to solving problems—combining technical solutions with the power of teamwork—has been essential to her achievements. She also highlights the positive impact of working alongside colleagues like Somashri Roy , Soham Mukherjee , Suneet Kapoor , and Nikolaos Christodoulou , whose support made her transition into the new role seamless. “Suneet was especially supportive and helped me settle into the culture. The onboarding process was smooth, and I’m thankful for that,” she says. 

Hobbies Beyond Code

Despite her deep connection to the tech world, she believes in maintaining a balance between work and personal life. She’s a sports enthusiast, enjoying badminton, swimming, and cycling. She also has a love for textiles and handlooms, often collecting unique fabrics from around the world. “I’m a bit of a shopaholic and love discovering different textiles,” she admits. On weekends, she enjoys solo travel, visiting new cafes, and exploring art exhibitions.
