Intro: Demystifying Tech Buzzwords

Have you seen the “Stuff Business People Say” video from Tripp and Tyler?  Or the video “Consulting 101: Biz Buzz Words” by Kristin Wald?   If you haven’t had a chance to watch either of those videos and you are in business of any kind, I encourage you to take 6 minutes out of your day to enjoy a good laugh and truly understand what most of us sound like most of the time.

My colleague Josh and I were listening to some sales calls early one Monday morning and in a flash we both looked up and said, “man do our sales people say a lot of these buzzwords, I wonder if we sound like that too?”.  Just then two of our sales reps walked in the door.  We told them our thought and they broke out in laughter.  That started a dialogue about some of the best Software Industry buzzwords and who says what most often.

We heard words like, the Internet of Things, Digital Transformation, Mobile workforce, A.I. (artificial intelligence), B.I (business intelligence), UI (user interface), virtual reality, synergy, machine learning, big data, data mining, data strategy, leverage, robust, streamline, low hanging fruit, mutually beneficial and many MANY others.  With all these buzzwords floating around and being recycled as often as we take a breath it’s hard to distinguish what really matters and how or if it will impact our businesses.

Josh and I will take you on a journey through the noise and B.S. that exists in the world of software.  We will tell you what you really need to know about 8 keys terms that are certain to impact your business over the next few years.

To ensure you receive these updates, please follow Josh and me
