Interview Tips & Tricks

In light of our upcoming interviews, I have asked some of our current students to reflect on their experiences and share some tips and tricks for the interview process. See some of their insights below:

- "Prepare a list of questions and write them down on a piece of paper to bring into the interview. That way you are prepared and don’t forget what you are wanting to ask during the question phase of the interview." - Jaidan S.

- "For staying calm during and before interviews I tried to go in with a mindset that it was more a conversation than an interview. In my opinion, this helped me remove the overall pressure and allowed me to just go in with the idea that both the interviewer and interviewee were simply looking to get to know each other and to see if there was a fit." - Derek P.

- "Research the company’s values so that you are able to have your answers reflect the values of the organization you are interviewing for – this helps both you and the company to figure out if you are a good fit (shaping your answers to the company’s values is a lot easier to do when your values and the company’s values align!)" - Lee F.

- "It is okay to take a pause and think about an answer or to word it properly before responding." - Taylor R.

- "During the interview I recommend that you ensure you smile and ENJOY yourself. Recruitment is just as much about you finding your right fit as it is about the firms finding the right candidates." - Morgan M.

Best of luck to all the students who have interviews booked in over the next few weeks and we hope these tips will be of some help!
