Internship Reflection

Internship Reflection

During the past year, I've interned for Textron as a high school intern. Please take the time to read my article about my personal and professional journey throughout the past year.

First and foremost, I would like to thank my CTE Coordinator Killebrew Keith for giving me this wonderful opportunity.

During my internship, I had the privilege to work alongside the ServiceNow Engineering Team with Erick Sheive , Christopher Carver, Chike Agbatekwe , Adam Robbins , and Japinder Singh . From the get-go, I had to learn and adapt quickly, learning ServiceNow, Powershell, Microsoft AD, and Javascript in order to develop processes that would enhance the Textron ServiceNow instance and migrate applications and processes into ServiceNow. Without the ServiceNow team, I wouldn't have been able to achieve the amount of professional and personal growth that I've had this past year.

Throughout the internship, I developed various automation processes, client and server-side scripts, and service catalog items. One of the crucial projects that I spearheaded was a workstation patching for Windows Update for Business (WuFB) automation process, which once deployed will affect all Windows workstations spanning all Textron business units.

Projects like these not only taught me technical skills but also exposed me to the business side of IT Operations, expanding my critical thinking skills and my project sustainability management skills. Such projects also taught me the importance of cross-team collaboration and effective communication.

During the summer, I had the wonderful opportunity to become a project manager for college interns, leading the refinement and creation of dashboards as a part of a larger initiative to integrate Textron business applications and processes into ServiceNow.

The success that I'd achieved in the past year wouldn't have been possible without my manager Kelley White . She welcomed me with open arms and helped me become the best version of myself.

And a big thank you to my mentor Erick Sheive , he's helped me every step of this internship and made me fall in love with ServiceNow.
