The Internet of Things

In today’s modern world, there is a big buzz of IoT. Where we live? Where we travel? What we are doing? How a manufacturer is tracking its product? What is the impact of IoT on our lives? A big debate is also taking place regarding this.
Think about how many devices are there in your home which are connected through the Internet. All your mobile phones, besides that all the laptops and tablets in your place and other than this there may be many smart gadgets in your home, for example, streaming dongle like Chromecast or a temperature monitor all these things are attached to the Internet, CCTV camera is also joined to the Internet. In such, we have started using so many such tools which are somewhere combined to the Internet.
What is basically the Internet of Things? The IoT is the arrangement of electrical appliances and different items embedded with electronics, software, sensors, actuators and network connectivity which enable these objects to collect and exchange data. So, it is the combination or family or system of such machines which are connected to the Internet. Internet is what we use in our smartphone, using Google, Youtube, Facebook or such apps. Internet of Things is a very smart feature through which media would communicate among themselves, automatically work for your benefit through the Internet very easily.
All these devices do the important work of their owner automatically in the perfect time. From small tools of your home like a watch, mobile to the big machines which are connected to each other and their master. Smart microwaves automatically cook the food. Smart- driving cars in which complex sensors detect the objects which come in the way. Fitness devices which measure your heart beats and the number of steps.
How does it work? Materials and gadgets have sensors which are attached to IoT platforms. The collect the data from different tools according to the owner and apply the analytics of that data. These powerful IoT programs apply very exact analytics according to the information given by the owner.
For example, there is a car and the GPS unit of the vehicle is combined through the Internet. If the automobile is running and an accident takes place and car automatically call the police station that collision has been taken place at this location and you can send the ambulance at this place or send policemen in case of any criminal activity. Here, you did not have to do anything. The message has been transferred from the vehicle automatically and there is a machine in the ambulance or police headquarters to receive the information automatically. The help comes to the site eventually.
One more instance, you forgot to close the doors of your garage and also the shades and sensors are fitted there. In this situation, the devices of your house would communicate and they feel that there is no activity in your apartment means that you are not there. So, all the entries are automatically blocked and you would receive a notification on your smartphone that your house is locked. After reaching the place, you would use your phone to unlock it.
Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg has programmed a new virtual assistant, Jarvis. Jarvis is similar to Amazon’s Alexa activated by voice and able to control household activities. Jarvis has facial recognition capabilities. Jarvis also responds to the text, through a messenger bot.
There are so many elements like these which are examples of the Internet of Things. There are so many possibilities of it like if there is any defect in your device like car or AC, then the manufacturer would get the update and it would notify you through your smartphone and you can make it repair. So, the Internet of Things is very interesting in these illustrations in which you have to do nothing. Your car is directly interacting with the manufacturer. So your work is hassle free without going through what is happening behind the scenes and just receive warnings on your phone. So, the Internet of Things would make our life easier.
