IMPORTANT - New Worker's Comp. Ruling Affecting Businesses with Returning Employees and WFH (Work from Home) Employees - Complimentary Report

Usually, my entire focus is on Technology and how to help businesses and people; however, like many of you, I have added another very important subject to the “Whirling Dervish” which is my mind and that is: the COVID-19 Virus. Not only the Virus itself but, specifically how it affects businesses and my industry.

As a seasoned technology expert, my charter is to communicate and educate relevant subject matter to prospects, customers, friends and family and now that I am in the “HELP” mode… to Everyone.

I have been in the Technology industry (Telecommunications and IT) for over 35 years and have seen many changes and trends but, the only thing that compares to the final divestiture (Break-up) of the AT&T/Bell Monopoly is the transformation that businesses are all forced to go through RIGHT NOW due to the COVID-19 pandemic (I have to keep reminding myself that, just like my customer base, this is a global phenomenon.)

In 1995, I hosted a seminar (not webinar… seminar 😊) titled: “Should Businesses Allow Telecommuting” or “WFH” (Work from Home) or another new TLA… “WFA” (Work from Anywhere). Now… 25 years later, it is literally being forced upon the business world and businesses of all sizes and industries are having to act… FAST And make sure they keep their networks secure!

I’m telling you something you already know BUT, here is something you may not know as of today (5/27/20) re: Worker’s Comp(ensation): Businesses are now being forced to comply with the new worker’s compensation payouts if any employee comes to work and tests positive. What does that mean? Even if the office is sterile and clean and all precautions are taken to disinfect before and ongoing, the Employer is Liable for worker's comp payouts if someone ends-up with the COVID-19 Virus.

EXAMPLE - Q: Will I (business executive) be liable for workers compensation payouts if my employee is at a party the night before and becomes infected then shows up to work noit knowing he/she is positive? A: YES

Below are a few links verifying the new ruling from the CDC (Center for Disease Control):

To be truly functional and productive, a telecommuting WFH employee cannot simply have a cell phone and a lap-top. There are many tools and collaborations apps. Needed in addition, to make sure they are productive and the network stays secure.

My company, Triple Digit Communications and our partner OTG Consulting have put together an important complimentary report on “What to Do to set-up a productive WFH workforce” which includes many of the work tools you will need along with examples of vendors that can provide these resources… EXAMPLES:

·        Cloud-Based VPN Mobile Connectivity

·        Unified Communications as a Service

·        Email Security

·        End User Cyber-security Training

·        Contact Center as a Service

·        Desktop as a Service

·        Help Desk as a Service

·        Endpoint Security (Antivirus) and much more

Please send me a message and I will send you the complimentary report or email me jbarnes@tripledigitcom.com

This is a large task and we are here to do the work for you... at no cost. Using our expertise and experience and agreements in-place with several hundred of the vendors needed to accomplish a smooth running and productive, secure WFH/WFA Telecommuting workforce environment.
