ILLUSION

An illusion is powerful – it is hard not to see the illusion – the illusion occurs when our mind fills in the pattern where we are only given a few points of reference. This pattern-matching way to fill in what we see is how we have evolved.

Don’t let the finding of “absence of evidence of effect” become an illusion of “evidence of absence of effect”. Don’t let “absence of statistical significance” become interpreted as “absence of effect”.  When we figure out how to demonstrate this difference to clinical information users (show them how to see beyond the illusion), we will move DynaMed from GREAT to EXCEPTIONAL.

Don’t let being BUSY become the illusion of being productive. Don’t let “meaning to do something” become the illusion of “doing something meaningful”.  Make sure what you are doing is productive and meaningful, and you get yourself from GREAT to EXCEPTIONAL.
