I don't need an All Flash Array!!
I had someone tell me the other day that they felt like they were under attack by storage vendors pushing All Flash Arrays.
This image came to mind immediately and IT end-users are often "under attack" by "aggressive vendors" pushing their technology.
All Flash Arrays or AFA's aren't AOK and bury their SSD's in legacy 6G SAS shelves.
AFA's aren't AOK when the expensive SSD's are locked away behind controllers that will become bottlenecks and require costly upgrades.
AFA's aren't AOK when the next evolution of flash media comes out and requires forklift upgrades of the drive enclosures.

Or.... what if there was a large capacity, high areal density, resource efficient, ultra-cost effective enterprise storage system that delivered performance parity with an AFA, but did so at a significantly lower cost per usable unit of capacity, and with a completely future-proof design and 7 9s of availability?
