How Manuar and Effectus Software team turned a Bus Factor of Zero into... an A-level product!

Manuar is an AI-driven platform owned by Julia Proto , with bold ambitions and a fast-moving team.

Their team was fully committed to their vision and knuckling down to push Manuar 's MVP forward.

To reach the next level, they needed to channel that dedication into clear methodologies and a scalable product structure without slowing momentum.

Together, we introduced our practices and the architecture needed to transform an MVP into a product built to last.

The Challenge: Knowledge at Risk

When Manuar approached Effectus, the product’s future hinged on a single, worrying truth: the Bus Factor was dangerously close to zero.

Critical know-how was scattered across a few individuals. Work dedication was high, but clear work methodologies were missing:

  • Fluctuating daily meetings, no shared backlog, and each contributor working on their own TZ.
  • Deadlines with existing clients were slipping, and scalability was more aspirational than a reality.

The risk was clear: without immediate action, both the product and the knowledge powering it were at stake.

Our Approach: Own, Stabilize, Organize, Scale

Effectus plugged Gastón González , a senior AI Engineer, to quickly stabilize the product and lead a technical reorganization.

To accelerate execution and ensure knowledge transfer, we added Rafaela Canepa , a full-time developer, who is working side-by-side with the senior Engineer and Manuar 's team.

Together, they delivered a proof of concept (PoC) to:

  • Restructure the app’s architecture for long-term scalability.
  • Optimize workflows and introduce agile rituals (backlog, dailies, clear sprint goals).
  • Centralize and document key technical knowledge.
  • White-labelling the product with WYSIWYG features.

The Transformation

In just a few sprints, Manuar experienced a clear shift:

  • Deadlines met: Projects with existing clients that were falling behind got back on track.
  • Architecture restructured: The product gained a scalable foundation, ready for growth.
  • New white-labeled pilots launched: Built on a stronger, more reliable MVP.

Bus factor from zero to documentation:

  • Knowledge unlocked: Documentation and processes replaced individual dependency.
  • Manuar's team is fully aware of all the processes and changes with strategic participation.
  • GitHub commits linked to solid user stories and tickets.
  • Shared Notion board for everyone to chime in.
  • A whole group of Engineers within Effectus HQ.

The Effectus Factor

This wasn’t just staff augmentation.

It was about transforming an immature MVP into a resilient and scalable product while embedding a culture of alignment and agile practices.

Today, Manuar continues to evolve with confidence, supported by solid practices, stronger architecture, and a Bus Factor that no longer keeps leadership awake at night.

Why It Matters

Manuar’s journey shows how alignment plus structure with a collaborative mindset unlock real growth:

  • Build on team dedication with clear methodologies.
  • Protect knowledge through documentation and transfer.
  • Strengthen your architecture to support the next stage.

At Effectus, we help startups transition from MVP to momentum, enabling teams to dream big without losing sleep.
