How I continue learning web development
I’ve been programming for a number of years, yet I’ll be continuing to learn and improve for many more years to come. This is by no means a complete list, but it is a way to pass on some of the resources I glean from.
I learn in different ways:
- Read articles / twitter / ebooks / emails
- Read code / documentation
- Listen to podcasts
- Watch presentations
- Attend meetups / conferences
- Write code
- Play with unfamiliar technologies
- Interactive tutorials / challenges
- Playpen / sandbox type websites
- Work on side-projects
- Teach code
Read
I subscribe to some mailing lists, but these sometimes clutter my inbox, so I try to keep it to a minimum.
I save articles for later using pocket: https://www.getpocket.com. This allows me to read articles at any time on my phone, or the pocket website.

Listen
I love podcasts. So convenient to fill in a trip to the supermarket, or a commute. All of these should be findable in your favourite podcasting app’s search feature.
