How to do interview

How to do interview right

If you still haven't check out my blog about how to apply and getting the job first, you should read that first as that's the first step and this is the second step.  Now that we have got that out of the way.  Let's proceed.

Before you go into the interview, make sure you've done some homework on the company that you're having the interview with if you're actually interested in having a career and a future with the company.  Because how awesome would it sound to them if you tell them that,  "I know your company is doing x and that last year your company had gone up from the previous year and that currently you guys are working on x.  Your goal is to get to x".  Wouldn't that be awesome?

So first of all when you speak to them, you have to sound confident.  Because if you don't believe you can do this job, your employer won't either.  There's no reason to trust someone who doesn't trust in himself/herself to do the job for them.  Know that you will provide values for the company and bring the company up a notch.

Think of it this way, if you were the employer, would you hire yourself?  Also a good tip is for finding a good employer is that, don't work for someone who you think wouldn't not be a good employee for you if you are the employer.

The road and communication goes both ways.  Remember that.

Always remember to speak in the company's interest.  This is the key remember!

A great usage of this application is when the employer asks "Do you have any questions?".  Your answer should never be "no."  You always ask question that would help them in some ways and give inputs to them.  A great example would be, "what is the greatest challenge that your company is facing? What are you guys doing resolve them?"  This lets them know that you care about them.  If you have a great idea on how to solve their issues and challenges, go ahead and give your input, it will give you extra points in the beginning!  :)

When they gave you an offer with a salary, always ask for more money.  Because negotiation carries you a long way.

Remember the ball isn't always on their court, you can always asks question such as, "Why should I work for you?"  "What makes your company a good fit for me when I have other offers?" when the interviewer asks do you have any questions.

I know it always feels like we're on the losing side of the stick when doing interviews, but we're really not if you put it on an equal footing.  But in all seriousness. Good luck and go get 'em!   :)
