How can I create Angular applications using the Angular CLI?

Angular is a well-liked framework for creating dynamic web apps. It offers developers a reliable and scalable alternative for creating web applications with its strong features and modular architecture. The Angular CLI is one of the most important tools used by developers to create Angular applications (Command Line Interface). We'll go over using the Angular CLI to create Angular applications in this tutorial.

Describe Angular CLI

A command-line tool called the Angular CLI automates a lot of the processes needed to create an Angular application. It offers programmers a quick and effective method for designing, building, and testing their Angular apps. Moreover, the Angular CLI offers a collection of preset templates known as schematics that make it simple for developers to build new components, modules, services, and other things.

How to install Angular CLI

Let's first install the Angular CLI before we start utilising it. Use the Node.js package manager, npm, to install the Angular CLI. Open a terminal window or command prompt and enter the following command:

npm install -g @angular/cli

This will update your system's global installation of the Angular CLI.

Constructing an Angular application

Let's construct a new Angular application now that the Angular CLI has been installed. Go to the directory where you want to construct your application, then type the following command to create a new Angular application:

ng new my-app

This will build a new directory called "my-app" and an Angular application called "my-app" within it. A basic application structure, comprising a number of predefined files and directories, will be generated for you by the Angular CLI.

Running the Angular application

The following command may be used to launch our Angular application after it has been created:

ng serve

By doing so, the development server will be started and our application will open in a browser. Any modifications we make to our programme will be instantly recompiled and shown to the user in the browser.

Creating services, modules, and components

Component, module, and service generation are simple tasks made simple by the Angular CLI. For instance, we may use the following command to create a new component:

ng generate component my-component

This will create a brand-new component with the name "my-component" in our Angular application's "app" folder. Similar to this, we can build different file kinds like modules and services with the ng generate command.

The Angular application's construction

The following command can be used to construct our Angular application when we are prepared to distribute it:

ng build --prod

A set of optimised files will be produced and placed in the "dist" folder after our programme has been built for production. Afterwards, we can deliver these files to our users by deploying them to a web server.

Conclusion

We have covered how to create Angular applications using the Angular CLI in this article. The fundamentals of setting up the Angular CLI, developing a fresh Angular application, launching it, producing components, modules, and services, and building the application for production have all been covered. The Angular CLI allows developers to focus on the more crucial elements of their application development while saving time and effort while creating Angular applications.
