High Turnover to High Performance

Identify your top producers and challenge them to elevate their business. If they're generating $10,000 per week, ask them to take some time and send you details on what is preventing them from generating $15,000 per week. Is it a lack of back-office or after-hours support, external distractions, software/equipment issues, or a lack of leads? Encourage them to be specific.

Now let's identify those who are underperforming. Do they have the potential to become top producers? If not, is there another role within the company where they could excel? If the answer is still no, then it's time to make a tough decision. Holding onto them might be preventing them from finding success and happiness elsewhere.

Next up we'll address hiring practices. A vast majority of candidates—99%—are sourced by recruiters who have little to no industry experience. These recruiters often flood job boards with promises of a 'work hard, play hard' environment and unlimited commission. Remember, this isn't about working hard, playing hard, or earning high commissions. It's about being great. Those commissions will take care of themselves.

Here is where we pivot. Let's revisit the notes from our top performers. We're going to remove any obstacles that are holding them back and focus resources on inspiring them. Don't invest in recruiting and training, for example, a 23-year-old recent college graduate with no industry experience (who's likely to leave within six months).
