Building Projects Or Watching Tutorials? 🤔

Suppose,
An Employer had to hire a candidate for the job profile of Full-Stack Developer
&
after shortlisting, two of them made it to the Interview Round,
In the interview,
both responded -:
Candidate 1: Had answered the majority of questions.
Candidate 2: said "Only after googling I'm gonna answer the question"

Now, as an interviewer, you'll definitely
not gonna select Candidate 2,
doesn't matter how bad the other candidate's performance is.
&
Now as an interviewer how would you identify suitable candidate for the role.
One who had hands-on with the project
or
the one who had watched twelve hours of long documentaries only.

Considering the case of Tutorials!

Watching tutorials only, are they worth it?

Or, is it good to do hands-on projects by building stuff barehanded?

Let's take 2 scenarios:

Case-1: Candidates 1- had watched the tutorial, had read the documentation but had also made projects
Case-2: Candidate 2- had watched the tutorials only.

Same as, if reading Personal Finance book would have made people richer then, there's been much more wealth in society than what reality is.

It's not about how much knowledge one had but, rather how much one could apply in reality!

It's not about how much one eat, but how much one could digest

It's good to get through the tutorials, considering you're new to the field,

but,

after gaining some basic understanding it's probably better to have hands on building real-world stuff (Projects).

Hands-on gives more insight than watching others' insight.
