Google Dialogflow

Google Dialogflow

Chabot’s have become very popular now days. You can see them in almost all type of customer facing application across multiple business domains, be it eCommerce , Banking, Travel etc. There are many custom products that provide these services, but today let’s look into service provided by Google called Dialogflow.

To go by correct introduction, Dialogflow is a Google-owned developer of human–computer interaction technologies based on natural language conversations. To keep it simple it’s a Chabot service that has inbuilt integrations into Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa, Skype, Facebook, Slack , Twitter, Cisco Spark, Web  etc.

So briefly, how to create your own Chabot service

1)     Login to Dialogeflow with your Google account.

2)     Go to the “Intents” tabs, key in your questions along with its responses.

3)     Go to “Integrations” tabs and configure the setting where you want to test your service, let’s use Google assistant.

4)     Now take your Android phone and starting asking your questions to Google assistant after invoking your skills and get your answers. Simple.

The above are few straight forward questions where the answers are static.  If you have questions where the answers are dynamic, let’s say which movie is playing in this cinema hall, you can write/ configure web services/web hooks in the integrations tab which will give the data in a json model expected by the API. You can read more on this here.

This is just the tip of the iceberg. There is a lot we can explore and do with this service, like creating Google assistant skills, Chabot integration, trigger actions etc. It’s up to us on how we can see an idea and utilize the service to implement the same.
